Our story
2017
Launch of Energy Observer, a laboratory boat project led by Victorien Erussard, Founder & Captain. It is the 1st energy-sufficient, zero-emission, zero-particulate, zero-noise vessel that produces its own hydrogen from seawater using renewable energies.

2019
After several years of designing and testing technologies based on the use of hydrogen in real-life conditions, EODev, Energy Observer‘s industrial spin-off, is born. The birth of the young start-up allows us to move on to a concrete demonstration of its solutions.
2020
- EODev installs its REXH₂ marinized generator on board Energy Observer for its first transatlantic journey, and presents the pre-production run of its very first land-based electro-hydrogen generator, the GEH₂.
- Completion of EODev’s 1st round of type A financing and launch of the industrialization phase for its solutions
- Signature of a strategic partnership with Monnoyeur Group (one of EODev’s shareholders) for the production of the GEH₂ and REXH₂ and the establishment of a distribution agreement through its subsidiary ENERIA based in the Île de France region.

2021
- Toyota Motor Europe, EODev’s industrial partner, acquires a stake in the company to promote hydrogen solutions
- Illumination of the Eiffel Tower with a sound and light show during the Paris Hydrogen Festival, featuring a demo version of the GEH₂ in the heart of the Energy Observer exhibition village.
- Launch of the 1st production line and dispatch of the first generators units
2022
- The 2nd generation of the 70kW REXH₂ receives the AiP (Approval in Principale) certificate from Bureau Veritas, and EODev’s international development takes off. Additional distribution agreements are signed in Northern Europe, the USA and the Middle East.
- GEH₂‘s presence in Europe intensifies, supplying electricity to numerous low-carbon construction sites, major festivals and events, and film shoots.

2023
- EODev accelerates the deployment of its solutions in France and abroad, with a presence at numerous trade fairs: Middle East Energy UAE, Fuel Cell Expo Japan, IRE Show in Maastricht, as well as multiple applications. Powering the Energy Observer village in Avoriaz for 3 weeks, electrifying the We Love Green festival, powering the Fan Zone at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, electrifying a building site in Spain, etc.
- Completion of its 2nd round of type B financing, with new investors making EODev the company with the highest capital raised in 2023.
2024
- Three GEH₂ are paralleled for the very first time, powering a large-scale construction site in a Natura 2000 area in the Netherlands for 10 days with local partner Genpower.
- Launch of BESSTIE, a brand-new battery-based energy storage system that completes EODev’s product range and enhances the performance of its GEH₂ electro-hydrogen generator by enabling systems to be parallelized.

2025
- EODev sets up in Antony with its own production site and offices to accelerate its development and the deployment of its projects in France and abroad
- The REXH₂ obtains the TAC (Type Approval Certificate) certification from Bureau Veritas, becoming one of only three companies worldwide certified and the only one for a fuel cell system.
