A flying boat on the water
Ultra-fast, HSVs or hydrofoil-powered flying catamarans are designed to keep up with hydrofoil-powered sailing boats, considered to be the Formula 1 of the seas. To meet specific speed requirements without emissions, fuel cells and hydrogen systems are all the more.
A response to strict specifications
Faced with ever-increasing environmental challenges, the 2024 America’s Cup protocol requires the supply of at least one fast, flying boat powered by fuel cells and running on hydrogen. As an integral part of EODev’s know-how, two REXH₂ with a capacity of 70 kW each have therefore been integrated into the American Magic & Orient Express follow-on vessels, built by Blue Game, enabling them not only to comply with the strict rules, but also to meet the challenges of the future and speed constraints.

Up to 50 knots at full power
With a total energy capacity of 350 kW between the fuel cells and its battery system, the HSV can reach a distance of 150 nautical miles and 50 knots at full power for 1 hour to keep up with the foil boats during the competition. Halfway between a Formula 1 car and a fighter jet, these chase boats are high-performance, durable technological gems.
