An Innovative Energy Ecosystem
Measuring 54 meters in length with a 310 m² working deck, this buoy tender integrates multiple technologies: photovoltaic panels, batteries, and a marine-adapted hydrogen generator, demonstrating a strong commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
A Fleet Modernization Project
This low-emission ocean buoy tender is part of APB’s (Armement des Phares et Balises) fleet modernization strategy, marking an important milestone in the development of sustainable vessels. It reflects the shared commitment of all consortium partners, including EODev, to energy transition through impactful projects.
100% Electric and Zero-Emission Propulsion
To ensure smooth, silent, and environmentally friendly navigation depending on mission requirements, the buoy tender can operate in full electric mode. It is equipped with 720 kWh of batteries powered by EODev’s marine hydrogen fuel cell system, REXH2®.
Hybrid Operation with REXH2®
Paired with the vessel’s battery system, our hydrogen range extender REXH2® recharges the batteries to enable hybrid electric navigation, replacing traditional thermal engines. Thanks to the “Plug & Play” features of REXH2®, it easily adapts and integrates into various vessel types and sizes.
From propulsion to onboard power supply, our silent, zero-emission solution meets diverse operational needs and specifications.
A Comprehensive System for Energy Optimization
The buoy tender is equipped with 30 m² of photovoltaic panels installed on the bridge roof, alongside several energy optimization features: heat recovery system, smart management of electrical equipment, and enhanced thermal insulation. These measures significantly reduce energy consumption and extend zero-emission autonomy by minimizing battery usage.
”The road to carbon neutrality is still a long one, but this buoy tender demonstrates the maturity and relevance of our technology, as well as its flexibility”
Jérémie Lagarrigue, EODev CEO
