This year’s exercise brought together 3 600 participants from 38 allied and partner nations, offering a unique platform to test cutting-edge innovations and technologies under real-world conditions.
Over 10 days, the event highlighted the logistical and technological challenges of modern military operations, pushing boundaries and showcasing solutions to enhance efficiency, resilience, and adaptability in the field.
Testing Hydrogen
Among the innovations presented, one solution in particular caught the attention of attendees: EODev’s GEH2 hydrogen generator.
Deployed on-site by our local partner and distributor, Toyota Sakura, in collaboration with Óbuda University and Hidrogenesis Zrt, it enabled a full-scale test.

A successful deployment in real-world conditions
During the Vigorous Warrior 2026 exercise, the GEH2 generator was installed near a ROLE 2 field hospital, an advanced medical facility designed for hostile environments.
Its role? To ensure a reliable and sustainable power supply, even in critical situations.
The benefits of the GEH2
• Proven autonomy:
The system reliably met the full power requirements of the camp across 13 cumulative hours of operation, spanning multiple sessions, even during cool morning start-ups and peak demand conditions.
Thanks to this continuous energy supply, critical operations like X-rays and simulated drone attacks ran without interruption, ensuring mission readiness and operational efficiency.
• Flexibility & speed:
Teams praised its effortless deployment, emphasizing its lightweight design and compact size, a major advantage for military missions where every minute counts.
No specialized handling or lifting equipment was needed: the system was quickly moved and positioned using standard on-site resources, streamlining deployment and reducing logistical complexity in the field.
• Discretion and sustainability:
Unlike diesel generators, the GEH2 operates silently and with low heat emission, thereby reducing the thermal and acoustic signatures of military bases. Furthermore, its operation produces no polluting emissions, only water is discharged.

As energy resilience and reducing the carbon footprint become priorities for militaries, the GEH2 has demonstrated its potential to revolutionize power supply at military bases.
With zero emissions, silent operation, and full autonomy, this system has proven that it can effectively replace traditional diesel generators while meeting the most stringent operational requirements.
International recognition for the GEH2
The GEH2’s effectiveness during the exercise did not go unnoticed. More than 20 military delegations, including those from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and numerous European countries expressed keen interest in this technology. Representatives from the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy even made several on-site visits to evaluate its performance.
This international attention underscores hydrogen’s strategic potential for future military operations.
By offering a clean, reliable, and flexible alternative to traditional energy solutions, the GEH2 paves the way for new industrial and technological collaborations within NATO.
